HOME MADE DOG TREATS As proud owners of two gorgeous dogs, we wanted to be able to have wholesome, nutritious, homemade treats on hand for them. Because we didn't find any that met our standards, we gathered all the best, human-grade ingredients we felt would be beneficial to both Moe and Princess, and invented our original recipe for "Homemade Dog Treats". Remembering that Duchess, our family pet while l was in high school, absolutely loved chicken livers over all else, we knew we had to try and formulate a dog cookie, using the maximum amount of chicken liver protein as we could. As a matter of fact, each small 3 ounce (85g) bag of our treats contains just over one eighth of a cup (31g) of fresh chicken liver. We included old cheddar cheese, chicken broth, and bacon, in order to include our current dogs' favourite flavours also. As well as using whole grain flour and sesame seeds, it was important for us to include fresh ground flax seed in the recipe. An excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, ground flax was included to help maintain their healthy skin and shiny coats, and help ease any arthritis, joint pain and/ or stiffness, thyroid disorders, or kidney disorders that they may have in the future. Brewer's yeast and garlic were added as a chemical-free way to help repel fleas. There are no artifical flavourings, additives, chemicals, or preservatives. Overwhelmingly, our Homemade Dog Treats have been loved by our dogs, our friends' dogs (and some cats), and virtually all of the other dogs that have taste-tested them over the last few years! Because we received so many calls from owners telling us that their pets were "going absolutely nuts over them", we knew we had to include these treats in our varied product line, so that other pets could also enjoy them! The second dog treat, "Homemade Dog Veggie Treats", is a recipe that we invented as a result of finding out that there are some dogs who have allergies to wheat, corn, beef, and dairy, as well as others, who also enjoy a tasty, vegetarian alternative. They also contain ground flax, brewer's yeast, and garlic. All of the treats that we offer are handmade, in small batches, and are available in both small and large "bone" shapes, so that all dogs, small and large, can easily devour them. Use them as a delicious treat, or as an excellent reward for training. Although they will never last for very long, they can be stored, unrefrigerated, for up to eighteen months. HOMEMADE CAT TREATS We do not have cats now, but many of our friends do have them as pets. Cats also deserve to have fresh, nutritious, and wholesome, homemade treats, so we developed our recipe for "Homemade Cat Treats". The protein source for these delicious, gourmet "nibblies" is canned mackerel. Along with wholegrain flour, ground flax seed is added as an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, which help to maintain cats' healthy skin and shiny coats. Brewer's yeast and garlic are included as a chemical-free method to help repel fleas. There are no artificial flavourings, additives, or chemicals, and they are naturally preserved with Vitamin E. These easy to chew, small treats are also enhanced with our own organic catnip. They are handmade, in small batches, with the best human-grade ingredients, in order to ensure that every morsel is consistently nourishing and delectable for your kittens and cats!
